Remy's Biography

Remy was born in the California Bay Area where he grew up listening to the sounds of Charles Mingus, Dave Holland, and Danilo Perez. He first began playing the oboe and then the saxophone, and at 18 moved to New York to play music and study with Dick Oatts, Steve Wilson, and Donny McCaslin. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Manhattan School of Music in 2007. Since moving to New York he has performed at prestigious venues such as Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, The 55 Bar, The Cutting Room, and Carnegie Hall. In addition he has performed with Donny McCaslin, John Ellis, EJ & Marcus Strickland, Clarence Penn, and Scott Colley. Remy is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at the Manhattan School of Music.

In his musical career, Remy Le Boeuf has garnered an impressive tally of over twenty national and international awards and accomplishments, including the ASCAP young composer award which he has won the last four years. Remy Le Boeuf has also received awards from The Grammy Foundation, Downbeat Magazine, The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, the John Coltrane Foundation, The North American Saxophone Alliance, the Steans Institute, the West Coast Songwriters Association, and the Independent Music Awards.

Remy and Pascal's next album will most likely be released in the fall of 2008 .
